Oak + Oar was my first true brand build and my entry point into entrepreneurshipa deliberate lead toward self-sustaining work and ownership of my ideas. Building Oak + Oar taught me how to take something from concept to reality, to make decisions without a safety net, and to trust process over certainty. It wasn’t just a brand; it was the foundation that showed me what it meant to build something from nothing and commit fully to making it stand on its own.

Founded alongside two friends from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Ole Denim was built on a simple idea: create denim fit to live in and capable of keeping pace with an unpredictable life. Crafted from rope-dyed selvedge sourced from Kuroki Denim Mills in Okayama, Japanrenowned for textiles that fade with character over time – Ole Denim reflected a commitment to quality, longevity, and character. True to its name–an expression of encouragement, approval, and joyOle Denim was meant to feel earned, personal, and better with age, documenting life not through perfection, but through wear.
